The kitchen is the heart of our home, so we decided on an open plan kitchen, living and dining - creating a practical space for our whole family. I love that my kids can sit at the bench while I cook dinner, or I can serve friends at the dining table while I finish a meal.
To keep this space practical for our family, it needed to be easy to clean and clutter free! Everywhere else can be a mess but if the kitchen bench is clear... instant peace. For us, this meant integrated appliances and a butler's pantry (of course!)
The hero piece is definitely our hand poured concrete kitchen island. We purposefully left it raw, so that it looks like earth. It's a timeless and earthy colour palette that can be adapted with flowers, art and styling pieces.
