Original artwork by Amanda Hinkelmann

Amanda is a proud Wiradjuri woman from Wagga Wagga

This artwork tells the story of my two girls and how they are connected as sisters- the two overlapping circles showing the bond they will have throughout their life. The two girls are as different as they are similar, they are like me but are made up of different parts of me.

My eldest daughter is very empathetic, thoughtful, and caring. She is eager to please and sensible. And while she gets all of those characteristics from me – some are perhaps not my best qualities!

My youngest is incredibly funny, carefree, happy-go-lucky, and has a love of learning. She is also fiercely independent – which isn’t always so helpful around the house.

Both sisters are extremely creative but in very different ways. They are best friends and the worst of enemies, and they will grow together and experience many things side by side.
